Ashtanga Yoga Classes

Starting Your Practice

There are many ways to start and develop your
yoga practice. Here at clarity we aim to provide a range of methods and classes that are supportive- yet fun - so you have a solid foundation regardless of how you progress with our life into Yoga.

And to support your practice, we are very lucky to be visited by one of the UK top Yoga Instructors Joey Miles - authorized by Sri K Pattabhi Jois; and International Yoga Instructors Paul Dallaghan -certified by Sri O P Tiwariji  and Sri K Pattabhi Jois.

Both teachers will bring additional depth to your yoga through philosophy, meditation, pranayama. Both of whom have studied this vast subject in great depth and able to translate the principles so they are applicable to today’s world.

In addition, we run a series of workshops with guest Teachers to help you gain a wider perspective of yoga beyond the physical practice – all in aid to help you use yoga as an inspiration towards healthy living.

The core or your training:
Developing a Mysore Practice

This is the traditional way that yoga was taught - in small groups with each person receiving personal guidance that is appropriate for that person’s level of fitness, flexibility, stamina and personal goals. The framework for the teaching is from a sequence of postures that are linked to a controlled breathing pattern. This sequencing is called The Ashtanga Yoga Primary Series. When learnt this way, the mind and body gain balance, strength, focus in a controlled manner.

Everyone at clarity is taught this way as it builds confidence and independence yet the teaching environment is highly supportive. The Mysore classes allows people of all abilities to practice together with the group energy helping to strengthen your own practice with the Instructor offering guidance to help you improve what you already know and prepare your mind and body for the next stage.

To make the Ashtanga Yoga Primary Series accessible, we’ve broken it down into stages: Just click on the link below which is most applicable to you:
